If you are in Gravel, there is a junction which allows you to reach the Col du Béal and which is magnificent. Otherwise you can go ski touring, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter or hike while stuffing yourself with blueberries in summer! Super pass to do from Sail sous Couzan for a real climb. It can be done in different variants by taking the traditional route, via St Just en bas or Palogneux. In any case, the roads remain very uncrowded and the landscapes are really beautiful with cliffs and pine forests. It almost feels like being in the south depending on where you look. Percentages are never too high. If we go through Palogneux the climb is steeper but a descent allows us to rest.

A nice training pass for big passes. You can enjoy beautiful views in the terminal part. On the Chalmazel side we stay for a long time in the forest with a very grainy road. Even in spring we feel that the climate is harsh with a drop in temperature as soon as we go up in altitude. Do not hesitate to climb to Pierre sur Haute to enjoy even more and extend the pleasure of the climb a little!
