Tough walking path, wear good shoes and long trousers. Some climbing and scrambling skills are required because of the many fallen trees.

Very impassable path due to wild vegetation

A fantastic viewpoint into the valley - and completely lonely - I was almost alone!

Failing to visit, since it is private, the Château de Cléron can be admired from the heights of Cléron, but also from its gardens. This medieval castle has been restored and offers observers a keep, machicolations, loopholes and stunners in excellent condition.

This castle was built in 1320 by Humbert de Cléron, vassal of the Count of Burgundy, to protect the Loue ford on the great salt road of Franche-Comté. Modified and enlarged in the 15th and 18th centuries, the castle still retains its medieval defenses. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (from 01/07 to 31/08, garden only, interior cannot be visited). Ticket price - 3 euros.

This viewpoint overlooks the Lison Valley and the village of Lizine with its slate-roofed homes. It faces the Château de Châtillon-sur-Lison. From this point you can enjoy the magnificent panoramas. There is also an information board to find out more about the area.

The belvedere of the black gouille overlooks the Canyon of Amondans whose top of the cliffs can be seen. It takes its name from the very deep hole (with black water) dug by the great waterfall of the Canyon d'Amondans where the Malans stream flows, which I throw into the Loue that you can see on the left.

Beautiful climbs/descents, fairly constant profile for training including a 4 km climb at 5% average.
