The two old bridge piers are still standing, offering a beautiful view of the Lot River and the town. It would be nicer if this bridge were still available for cyclists.

Conques is one of the best preserved villages in France. The town seems secluded from the modern hustle and bustle and is protected in lush greenery. It is a high spiritual place which attracted many pilgrims from all walks of life. It is the relics of Sainte-Foy which, during the Middle Ages, earned this place its notoriety. The village has the finest collection of reliquaries in France. Unique fact, each inhabitant hid the treasures of the church at the time, so that they escape the destruction of the revolutionary period.

Very beautiful castle, exterior renovated in 08/2022 a tower under construction, the rest of the village is worth the detour and to stop there in the middle of beautiful countryside.
