As soon as you arrive in the town, you will be greeted by the sight of picturesque houses with slate-covered facades stretching to the sky. The old boats rocking peacefully in the harbor tell of times gone by and the once bustling activity of this historic port city. A particular highlight is the old basin, commissioned by Colbert in the 17th century, which reflects the splendor of boat trips of that time. While you are here, be sure to take a detour to the quays, where the tall houses on Quai-Catherine form a fascinating contrast to the magnificent stone buildings on Quai Saint-Etienne.
