Cross one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France” then join the D908. Shortly after, head towards La Salvetat by going up the D14. This road winds through a mineral setting, overlooking a valley. At the Col du Poirier, overlook the hamlet of Mauroul nestled at the foot of the mountain. Pass a few more bends and a few belvederes, where the view can extend as far as the Pyrenees, to finally reach the Col de Fontfroide.
