Piriac-sur-Mer is a village of character in the Pays de Guérande. It is worth a visit for its port, one of the largest in the area, its beaches and its pretty little streets.

Created in 1791, the path was patrolled by customs officers – hence its name – tasked with preventing any smuggling. To keep an eye on trafficking and looting of wrecks, they crisscrossed the coasts night and day, whatever the weather. Having fallen into disuse at the beginning of the 20th century, the path was given a second lease of life in 1968, when a few enthusiasts decided to turn it into a hiking trail. It was near Lannion that the famous white and red markings that mark the route appeared: the GR® 34 was born.

Cycle through the picturesque Marais Salant de Guérande, where the landscape is dominated by vast expanses of salt. As you ride, enjoy the serene beauty of the marshes, with salt flats stretching as far as the eye can see, framed by the vibrant green of the surrounding fields. I would like to correct an error in the name of this magnificent port which is called "Port Lérat" which I know very well and which borders one of the most beautiful beaches in Piriac-sur-Mer.
