The walker who goes to Morlaix first notices its impressive viaduct. This stone structure spans the deep valley at the bottom of which lies the estuary of the Morlaix river. Ideally located on the customs path, the active town has many shops. Behind its buildings made of stones and half-timbered wood, the choice of accommodation is wide. From camping on the edge of town to large hotels located in its heart, the offer is accessible to all wallets. Every Saturday, a food market is organized by local producers. A railway station is served daily by the Brest-Rennes axis.

The Église Saint-Melaine is a Catholic place of worship from the 15th and 16th centuries, located in Morlaix, in the French department of Finistère, in Brittany. The church was built between 1489 and 1574 in the flamboyant Gothic style1. The construction of the church began with the south porch in 1489. The Beaumanoir family, a family of stonecutters, worked on the construction site from 1489 to 1516. The tower was completed in 1574 and was covered with a Renaissance dome made of lead. The church is part of the Diocese of Quimper and Léon and is located in the parish of Saint-Yves-en-Pays-de-Morlaix. It dominates the large Place des Otages, in the heart of the city center. A particularly beautiful one is the three-story half-timbered house “Maison dite de la duchesse Anne”. The atmosphere in Morlaix is great at the Saturday weekly market. The traders present their goods between the historical buildings. They are often regional producers who offer their vegetables, bread or excellent cheese. Locals meet at the stalls to shop and chat. News is exchanged, appointments are made and people admire how big the children have become.
