Very beautiful cave to see at the bend in the main path near Villers sous Saulnot

The Ognon crossing at Pont-sur-l'Ognon offers a scenic and serene experience for cycle tourists. As you cycle, take time to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, with the sound of the river flowing below and the birds singing in the trees.

Great hotel, especially for festive occasions. Occasionally visits possible for an admission fee.

Considered by some to be one of the most beautiful castles of the 19th century, it was built in a neo-Louis XIII style between 1882 and 1887 on the ruins of an old castle destroyed during the Battle of Villersexel in 1871. Its furniture dates also from this period. Now private, it can be visited between April and October. It also serves as a reception venue for weddings or events.

The cycle path passes right next to this old station. It no longer serves this purpose and there is no entrance (a fence will deter you), however, it now appears to be a small office building.

A sturdy bridge over the Ognon River where you can meet up with a group of other cyclists. The Ognon is a left tributary of the Saône and therefore a sub-tributary of the Rhône. The Ognon crosses ninety-eight communes. In Villersexel you can find many activities linked to this river: leisure center, canoeing, reception lodge...

Open for viewing Wednesday Thursday Friday from 1pm to 6pm. No leadership. You can stay overnight in the castle.

The cave is now called Réseau de la Sapoise.
