Built in the 1920s, this distillery produced beet alcohol for the chemical industry or the pharmacy, and sometimes also for local consumption... During the Second World War, the alcohol was used to run Parisian buses, so in fuel shortage. The Germans having installed a military battery there, it was the site of a violent battle to ensure the liberation of Paris. The activity of the distillery stopped in 1952. It was then used as a setting in several films including "Diabolically yours" by Julien Duvivier with Alain Delon in 1967, and "36 quai des orfèvres" by Olivier Marchal. In 1973, the building hosted the entire crew of the film "The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob", directed by Gérard Oury. But only one outdoor scene was shot there, and the silhouette of the building only appears once at the beginning of the film. Abandoned, having even served as a landfill, it was recently renovated to be transformed into a dwelling and a reception area.

The surrounding forest is a must. The castle is nothing special.

Built in 1560, the manor of Hazeville was deeply redesigned in the 19th century by the architect of Napoleon I Pierre-François Fontaine, who was originally from Pontoise.

Located in the town of Gaillon-sur-Montcient, the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church is an architectural and historical gem. Its construction dates back to the 12th century, when a group of monks was sent there to cultivate these lands. The parish building would have been completed around the middle of the 13th century. It was then remodeled during the 16th century, which gives you a very fascinating building to contemplate.

Old distillery transformed into a reception area

We are here in the presence of a large dolmen discovered in 1768 by the villagers. They actually believed they had discovered the remains of a monastery. The stripping of the dolmen delivered leather spatulas, vases, ashes and flint knives. It was estimated in 1894 that this monument contained 150 skeletons. It was excavated in a more scientific way in 1899 by Mr. Mortillet and restored in 1970. The archives show the presence of roofing slabs until the 18th century. The dolmen consists of large sandstone slabs forming the pillars. The gaps between the pillars are filled with flat stones.
