Due to the destruction during the Thirty Years' War in 1637, no older furnishings have survived. However, a particularly striking recent addition is the colorful angels with their musical instruments on the right-hand side in front of the chancel. They were donated in the early 2000s and are a beautiful symbol of the appreciation of music in the Protestant church tradition.

One of the many beautiful views of the elongated massif of the Hoher Meißner. The more than 4 km long high plateau is clearly visible from this perspective. The highest point – the Kasseler Kuppe – is also the highest mountain in northeastern Hesse.

The shelter itself is unremarkable, but the multi-line inscription is worth reading. Of course, the shelter also serves a weatherproofing function.

Fans of narrow paths will be thrilled by this (unfortunately far too short) section.

The Jägereiche (Hunter's Oak) is a rather striking tree located near the crossroads. The covered benches make the spot a pleasant place to rest.

An absolutely must-see museum on the original site, complete with original border fortifications. You can walk along the border installation (green belt) and get a sense of what the situation was like back then.

A beautiful path where you should be sure-footed

St. Mary's Protestant Church was built directly into the mountainside. On the hiking trail above, you're within touching distance of the tower—not an everyday perspective.
