From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the route you are now taking: Seetal Alps, Zirbitzkogel, Wildsee, Schmelz, Judenburg.

The Unterauerlinger Hut is open from mid-May to the first Sunday in October and offers a selection of drinks and homemade specialties that vary depending on what is on offer each day. Hikers can pay to get chilled drinks from the fountain in front of the hut at any time. It is also possible to stay overnight if the weather changes or by prior arrangement.

This gate is a protection for hikers, especially when there are calves in the pasture. Was it built for this? At least it helped us when the young bull and cow with calf ran straight towards us. In this case, the only thing that helps is to wait and, at the next opportunity, walk quietly and at a great distance around the herd.
