Roscoff, a famous seaside resort in northern Brittany, also serves as a fishing and pleasure port. Between its granite walls hide several curiosities such as old houses from the 16th century, a fig tree planted around 1625 by Capuchin monks or the Saint-Barbe chapel which monitors the lobster and lobster tanks installed near the port. ideally located on the GR 34 (customs trail), the town has many amenities, from accommodation to catering. Its port provides a daily connection to the island of Batz. Finally, a bus line takes you to Morlaix which has a train station.

Only accessible at low tide, Sieck Island is today private but open to the public. On these lands lie the remains of a guardhouse and a sardine cannery. If the tide allows it, allow a good hour to go around the island.

The construction of the church was undertaken around 1520 on a dune, land taken from the sea, at the initiative of the city's shipowners. The sacred perimeter contains the church, 2 ossuary chapels, one Gothic, the other Henry II style, as well as a funerary monument. The church is in flamboyant Gothic style. The Renaissance bell tower dates from 1575-1576, it is made up of pinnacles chiseled in the granite. The facades of the church are punctuated with stone caravels and 18 figured crossettes, men and beasts. The first ossuary was built in the 16th century to cope with the shortage of space in the cemetery surrounding the church. The second ossuary dates from the 17th century.

The lively port of Roscoff is worth every little detour. Definitely translate to the Ile de Batz and then eat something in the old town or have a delicious drink in the café at the port. You can often buy their catch directly from the fishermen in the harbor. The times for this are laid out on the sales tables at the pier or posted provisionally. There I got to know the petancle, a small type of mussel that is similar to the scallop but has a more intense taste. Delicate. ! ;-)

The Pointe de Perharidy is a small peninsula which has recently been developed and restored into a natural space. A path accessible to all allows you to go around the coast. It is a wonderful place to explore.
