A beautiful place—before the holiday season—we were here on June 22nd and had a pleasant stay. There's a lot to explore.

Hôpital-Camfrout, more commonly called "l'Hôpital-Camfrout", is a pretty little town where the Camfrout river flows into Brest harbor. With more than 2,000 inhabitants, it offers numerous shops, practical for itinerants on the GR 34. If the schedule invites you to do so, stop by the village church, built in the 16th century with help stones extracted from neighboring quarries.

Protected woods at the exit of Hôpital-Camfrout, in the heart of the Armorique regional natural park, are a green lung for the inhabitants of Finistère. Deer are common in its paths. Be on the lookout if you want to observe them.

Among the villages and hamlets which bear witness to the history of the Aulne maritime valley, Le Faou is one of the must-sees. This small town of character brings together beautiful 16th century corbelled houses, a church with a fine Renaissance bell tower and a port. Near the town, the church of Rumengol stands on the remains of a Druid altar.
