The old pilgrim hospital

The bridge has a separate bike path. This is lowered by approximately 1.5 m from the roadway. This reduces exposure to the wind. In addition, people with a fear of heights can cycle along the lowered section without having a view of the depths.

The chapel originally dates back to the 17th century. A visit is definitely worth it – the view is simply fantastic!

Great preparation course at the end of the day

Very beautiful chapel, recently restored after a fire in 2022. The panorama over the entire Monts d'Arrée, the sea and the crests of the Montagnes Noires is magnificent.

Superb arched bridge over the Aulne, similar to the Millau viaduct in its design (same architectural firm). It was built to replace a bridge built in the 1950s, more suited to today's traffic. The construction materials (e.g. sea sand for concrete) affected its solidity.

Exceptional views from the summit. You can reach the summit by racing bike, although the last part is a bit gravelly.

Hôpital-Camfrout, more commonly called "l'Hôpital-Camfrout", is a pretty little town where the Camfrout river flows into Brest harbor. With more than 2,000 inhabitants, it offers numerous shops, practical for itinerants on the GR 34. If the schedule invites you to do so, stop by the village church, built in the 16th century with help stones extracted from neighboring quarries.
