Grez-Neuville is a charming village on the banks of the Mayenne. The port has been a base for river tourism in Anjou since the 80s, and you can watch the boats coming and going on the river.

The town of Villevêque is dominated by a castle, the former residence of the bishops of Angers. This land of mills also has a small beach adjoining the Loir which offers a pleasant moment of relaxation.

This mill was in operation as early as the 12th century. Initially used for grinding wheat, it was used from the 19th century onwards for tanning and hemp processing. The Motte mill also had a backup windmill which took over when flooding prevented the main mill from operating.

The port of Grez-Neuville is a charming village located on the banks of the Mayenne, where you can enjoy a relaxing hike along the water. You can admire old stone buildings there, such as the old Château du Port, which today houses the town hall, and the Grand Moulin, a fortified water mill. The port of Grez-Neuville is an ideal place to discover the natural and cultural heritage of Anjou.

The Sautré castle in Feneu dates from the 13th century and was built by the lord of Feneu on a rocky outcrop surrounded by a moat. You can admire the elegant facade, the neo-Gothic gallery, the 15th century tower and the 18th century pavilions. The castle also has a landscaped park with tall trees, roses and other flowers.

Villevêque Castle is a former residence of the bishops of Angers. This 12th century fortress, which overlooks the Loir, was rebuilt twice after being besieged during the Hundred Years' War. Today it houses a museum which presents a rich collection of art from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, donated by the collector Daniel Duclaux. There you can admire sculptures, ceramics, tapestries and furniture from different periods and regions. You can also walk in the garden, where part of the Elne cloister (14th century) has been reconstructed. The Château de Villevêque is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
