Magnificent panorama of the Puy de Dôme!

Beautiful viewpoint, and below an old volcanic rock quarry.

Among the attractions of the Enval gorges, the Petit and Grand Gornand waterfalls are a choice hiking destination. Here is the smaller of the two.

Coming from Facemeunier, go to the 2nd wooden bridge to discover the second waterfall. Be careful on the way down, the log staircase has suffered a little.

The Puy de Jumes is located on a chain of nine volcanoes including the Puy de Lemptégy, those of Les Gouttes and Chopine, and of course its twin, the Puy de la Coquille. The views and surrounding trails are magnificent.

Culminating at 1,152 meters, the Puy de la Coquille presents a small crater partly covered with vegetation. It offers a beautiful view of the Puy de Dôme. The stairs that lead there make your thighs warm. And the path that goes to the twin volcano, the Puy de Jumes, is very pleasant.

Come here to observe the Chaîne des Puys; you'll see it much better than in photos! Follow the yellow markings from Charbonnières to Facemenier for 6.7 kilometers.
