Saint-Julien-du-Tournel, located in the upper Lot valley, between Bleymard to the north and Bagnols-les-Bains to the south, is one of the six municipalities which united to form the new entity of Mont-Lozère and Goulet . Around this town, there are many idyllic waterfalls.

This castle is located on a rocky spur which dominates the upper valley of the Lot. It was destroyed by the Huguenots during the wars of religion. Of the former seat of the family of the barons of Tournel, only ruins remain. They are impressive, as several towers are still standing. Restoration work takes place regularly in order to preserve this historical heritage.

The Roc des Chiens Fous, topped with its granite chaos, owes its name to a local legend according to which the dogs of a shepherd would have found refuge here during a winter but would have gone mad. In any case, it offers a magnificent view with postcard landscapes.
