Magnificent view after a nice, not very technical descent

The poet Alphonse de Lamartine spent his childhood and adolescence in this house built by his great-grandfather in 1705. This 19th century author and politician left his mark on France, notably through his fight for the abolition of slavery, the decree of which he signed in 1848, when he was head of the Provisional Government.

View of the Roche de Vergisson. This limestone formation dates back 300 million years. It was then occupied in the Middle Ages as a stronghold, then at the end of this period by monks who designed the wine-growing landscape.

Superb Voie Verte which passes through the vineyard. On this portion, we discover the Mâconnais which covers the hillsides up to the rocks of Solutre-Pouilly-Vergisson. A must that enriches this itinerary labeled “Bike & cheese”.

A picnic area welcomes you at the door of the Terres Secretes winegrowers’ cellar. There we discover the only cellar present within the perimeter of the Grand Site Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson. A wide range of appellations is available for sale. The winery is committed to several labels: “Vignobles & Découverte” and three environmental labels.
