The chapel was planned and built by Paul Bammert from Oggelsbeuren, but unfortunately he was unable to complete it before his death. Many of the town's residents completed it after his death; a beautiful and quiet place for one's own thoughts.

The St. Wendelin chapel was built in 1870 in the hamlet of Aigendof near Attenweiler. The chapel has been lovingly restored inside and is well worth a visit.
