Walk a little past the turnoff and you'll see a bench with a magnificent view! Afterwards, you can continue the tour.

The castle complex is located on a spur on the Daubenschlag rock (French: Rocher du Daubenschlag). All that is visible here are the foundations of a large castle. Behind the clearly visible moat there is a strong shield wall, against which a large square keep (base area 11 × 11 meters) leans in the middle. In the middle of the castle complex there are still remains of a palace.

Very beautiful place, you can take shelter there in case of bad weather and eat a bite on the huge Vosges sandstone table. The hike all around is nice and easy. The trails are almost all clear.

The Hüneburg/ Château de Hunebourg in the French department of Bas-Rhin on a 425 meter high sandstone cliff. The castle was originally all or half of the imperial property, but the Bishop of Strasbourg also had rights here, as did the Electorate of the Palatinate. The existence of the castle was first mentioned in documents in 1125. It is privately owned and cannot be visited, but just walking along the steep cliffs on which this mighty castle sits is an experience.
