Lake Plesching near Linz is a popular destination and offers ideal conditions for cyclists. A flat, approximately two-kilometer-long circular route runs directly along the water and is perfect for leisurely rides or family outings. The lake is located near the Danube Cycle Path and is easily accessible via lakeside paths, making it a worthwhile detour for touring cyclists. For more ambitious cyclists, a variety of mountain bike trails start nearby at Pfenningberg. With seating areas, restaurants, playgrounds, and well-maintained lawns for sunbathing, Lake Plesching is also an ideal spot for a relaxing break during a bike tour.

The Ennsegg bicycle ferry connects the towns of Enns, St. Pantaleon-Erla, and Mauthausen across the Danube and is particularly popular with cyclists on the Danube Cycle Path. It operates daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from May to September, and until 7:00 p.m. from June to August. Crossings take place at short intervals of approximately five to ten minutes, and up to twelve people with their bicycles can be transported at one time. The ferry offers a weatherproof crossing and is also suitable for groups. This makes it a practical and scenic way to cross the Danube and connect the cycle paths on both banks.

Nice section if you want to cycle from Abwinden towards Mauthausen (or vice versa). Unfortunately you then have to take the B1 towards Ennsdorf to get back onto a nice cycle path to the Mauthausen Bridge
