The church was built from the 12th to 16th centuries. In the bell tower there are no fewer than three bells, including Germaine, the largest (around 1,500 kg), which is among the oldest preserved in the Autun diocese.

This cave has been the subject of professional and clandestine excavations. What we do know is that many prehistoric flint tools were found in this cave, as one would expect. But Gallo-Roman pottery has also been found there.

This quarry was exploited for about fifty years. In 1900, a cable car system was installed to transport the stone. Some of the pylons are still visible in the area. The stone from this quarry was used in particular for paving and curbs in Paris.
