Situated on the Meuse and crossed by the Houille river, Givet is a French city in the heart of the Ardennes with a remarkable geographical location and a rich urban and historical heritage. Givet is the perfect combination of history and modernity.

Since the Middle Ages, the Meuse has played an important role for the adjacent industrial areas. Professional shipping has played an important role throughout the history of this river and will probably continue to do so for a long time. Because this river is so important to many companies, many adjustments have been made over the years to make the Meuse more navigable.

I have never ridden a bike path so close to a nuclear power plant, it is a very rare opportunity!

The Chooz nuclear power plant has three pressurised water reactors and is just as unattractive as the Tihange nuclear power plant downstream in Belgium.
