stunningly beautiful mountain lake

Not only is cycling prohibited here, but even carrying bicycles is prohibited. You are neither allowed to push nor carry your bike! Possibly even possessing a bicycle is a criminal offense. This isn't clearly indicated at the entrance; there's just a crossed-out biker on a bicycle. After pushing our bikes 2km and about 300 meters in elevation to the Col de Cou, we fell victim to state-sanctioned highway robbery and paid 50 CHF per person (July 30, 2025).

The Cabane des Becs de Bosson, located at 2,985 meters above sea level, offers a panoramic view of Mont Blanc, the 4,000-meter peaks of the Val d'Anniviers and the mountains of the Val d'Hérens. The cabin is open during the winter from December 27, 2024 to April 13, 2025 and in the summer from June 28 to October 5, 2025. Built in 1997 and expanded in 2012, the property offers modern comforts and is an ideal starting point for many hikes in the region.

The Pichioc waterfall is a wonderful place. The waterfall itself is not too huge. The water is very cold and can be turbulent, so if you want to go into the river, cross with caution.

A classic Alpine town, with cafes, restaurants and typical Swiss Alpine architecture. This town makes an excellent place for a coffee break before, during or after a walk, and offers an excellent view of the valley below and nearby.

A rugged alpine refuge, hidden under the Becs de Bosson. The refuge offers food, drinks and accommodation for all mountain lovers. Due to the spectacular and unique location, the refuge is an ideal place to take a break and enjoy the excellent mountain ambiance with a coffee and cake - no mountain excursion is complete without this! If you fancy staying overnight, be sure to check ahead and book - these huts can get very busy in peak season.

An open, grassy mountain pass, accessible via several different trails, and most often descended via the popular "Brazilian" trail, an informal trail that winds down the mountainside toward the town of Nax. Despite its attractive appearance, please do not drive in the Vallon-de-Réchy nature reserve. It's a safe haven for rare flora and fauna, and our big wheels will damage anything. So, to stay on good terms with furry friends and local authorities, stay away!
