Path along the Rhone

On the Right Bank terroir, Mandement is the main wine-growing region in the canton of Geneva. Wine production in Geneva has its roots in Roman times. Generations of winegrowers and winemakers have perpetuated this tradition to bring to life increasingly noted vintages.

Bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the Rhône

A beautiful building in the village of Satigny which is a town hall. Open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., in theory, the town hall can simply be visited without an appointment. There is also a recycling point near the building.

Even though the public no longer has direct access to the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we found the visit to CERN extremely interesting. During the tour we booked, we were captivated by the lively explanations of a British scientist who was involved in the discovery of the Higgs boson and therefore had authentic information to offer. In addition to the well-designed museum, we even got a glimpse into the control room of the Atlas experiment. Conclusion: a very interesting excursion for those interested in science!

An impressive view of the Rhône. There is also a swimming spot a little down the road, however the currents can be strong so be careful. A great place for a picnic (no facilities, but nice views).

A renowned institution that conducts experiments on nuclear particles. The colliders are located in France and Switzerland and physicists from many countries work here. The museum is free to visit.

At this place, you can enjoy a panorama of the vineyards (green in summer, giving freshness and brightness to the landscape) and Mont Salève on the French side. The views are especially spectacular during the warmer seasons.
