Suspension Bridge over the Schlappintobel Gorge, Klosters The impressive suspension bridge over the Schlappintobel Gorge is an integral part of the Klosters High Trail and an important sub-project of the PRE Klosters (Practical Environment Klosters) project. Construction of the bridge began in spring 2017 and progressed rapidly. With a total length of an impressive 70.5 meters, the cable-and-wood structure spans the Schlappintobel Gorge, reaching a highest point of 19 meters above ground. In beautiful summer weather, the new bridge was inaugurated with a small bridge festival and opened to the public on June 10, 2017. The bridge can be reached on foot in 15 minutes from the Madrisa cable car valley station and is also suitable for hiking with young children. A few impressive figures about the suspension bridge: A single bridge pylon, 10.5 meters high, bears the entire load. 220 meters of suspension cables were installed (2 cables, each 110 meters long [3 x 15.7 mm]). 40 meters of cable anchors secure the structure (4 cables, each 10 meters long, 22.5 mm). 120 meters of wind bracing cables are in use (2 cables, each 60 meters long). Winter Hike “Monbiel – Alp Garfiun – Klosters” A winter hike from the old Walser village of Monbiel to the tranquil Alp Garfiun with its cozy mountain inn – an oasis of peace. The trail continues through the enchanting winter landscape along the Lanquart River to Klosters Platz. The starting point for the winter hike is the Monbiel parking lot bus stop, accessible from Klosters Platz. For a more leisurely experience, you can travel by nostalgic horse-drawn carriage through the magnificent winter scenery to Monbiel, the highest year-round inhabited settlement in the Prättigau region. For a bite to eat beforehand, the Gasthaus Höhwald (+41 81 422 30 45) is recommended. From the bus stop, follow the marked winter hiking trail, which ascends gently to Alp Pardenn and then on to Alp Garfiun. Shortly before reaching the alpine hut, the trail climbs slightly again. Having arrived at the top of Alp Garfiun (+81 422 13 69), the cozy hut invites you to enjoy delicious alpine dishes and a fantastic mountain panorama. From Alp Garfiun, the trail descends to the Landquart River and then retraces its steps for a short distance to the fork in the path near Baretschrüti, where you turn left. Cross the Landquart via a bridge. Following the river, you pass through Schwäderloch, where you then follow the road to Äuja and the winter hiking trail. Shortly before Klosters, you cross the Landquart again and then walk through the village center to Klosters Platz train station. A beautiful, narrow hiking trail leads through the unspoiled valley with the evocative name Chüecalanda. It connects the lunar landscape at the Rätschenjoch with the Madrisa.

Alp Novai is a picturesque alp located at the entrance to the Vereina Valley in the Klosters district of Switzerland. During the summer, it is home to around 80 dairy cows and 40 pigs. The milk produced is processed into around 10,000 kg of alp cheese, 700 kg of Ziger and 1,300 kg of butter. Visitors can enjoy drinks, alp cheese, mixed dishes and regional salsiz at the alp. Along the Landquart: Hikes Klosters - Monbiel (Diethelmpromenade) From Klosters, the route goes along the Landquart (river) towards Monbiel. The path is super beautiful and easy to walk (flat).

Sagenbord suspension bridge, Sagenbord-Monbiel Sagenbord-Monbiel, suspension bridge in Prättigau above Landquart This suspension bridge was built by the local heroes Crestageo AG, a construction company based in Chur that specializes in the construction of suspension bridges, among other things. The 44-meter suspension bridge consists of 2 suspension cables with a suspended wooden walkway. This walking surface is covered with a wire mesh so that there is less risk of slipping when it is wet or icy. On the south side, the suspension cables are stretched over a 5-meter-high metal pylon, on the north side the suspension cables are anchored directly in the slope behind it, slightly higher up.
