Above the North door, there is an equestrian statue of the knight Thibault Work attributed to Juan de Juni (Jean de Joigny). To insert it into the wall, the tip of the gable that surmounted the door had to be broken.

The Villevallier suspension bridge, a toll bridge, built in 1833, replaced the fords and ferries that were used to cross the river. It was destroyed in the first half of the 20th century.

For over forty years, every late summer, Villevallier has celebrated its Patron Saint in its pretty little church decorated for the occasion with vegetables, fruits and flowers from its gardeners, generously brought for this eagerly awaited and carefully prepared mass.

Built in 1845, this suspension bridge is worth a detour. If you go down the east bank of the Yonne on the south bank to this place, you can admire the suspension bridge in all its glory.
