A must-see even if you don't take the train

The arrival of the Ardèche Train “Le Mastrou”

The old Lamastre station is the arrival point of the Ardèche train. Called Le Mastrou, this train takes you on a discovery of the Gorges du Doux. Built from 1886 to 1891, the railway line goes up the gorges from Saint-Jean-de-Muzol to Lamastre. This old steam locomotive takes you back in time. It is possible to make the trip with bicycles. Remember to book your tickets well in advance, especially during the summer.

Unfortunately, the restaurant in front of the ruins as well as the pizzeria and bar at the campsite were closed in the afternoon at the end of June.

This path runs along the Sumène, a small river that can sometimes be glimpsed among the trees. This section alternates shaded parts with segments in full sun, just to vary the pleasures!
