Laupen, a picturesque town in the canton of Bern, is located at the confluence of the Sense and Saane rivers. The different roof shapes, ridge heights and reddish-brown tiles give it a historical character. Strategically located, the impressive border fortress defied the attacks of the Habsburgs.
