The small village of Saint-Palais is located at the crossroads of the three Basque provinces of Labourd, Basse Navarre and Soule. Former capital of Navarre, the village has managed to preserve its traditions and its authentic culture.

From Peyrehorade to Bayonne via the right bank or the left bank, it's always superb. The crossing of Bayonne on the right bank is difficult with the road traffic.

The Château de Montréal has had many functions since its construction in the 1550s. Originally built to control river traffic on the Gaves united, it later became the residence of the Viscounts of the Orthe region, before becoming a military hospital, a convent and a technical college. It is however today the town hall of Peyrehorade.

Sordes Abbey, in the town of Sorde-l'Abbaye, is a Benedictine abbey from the 10th century.

Walk with nice with a small river to cross, passage in fields, a bit of forest, and some place with stones. Easy for all with a bit of physical condition.
