I went up the Gjeravica Peak on August the 7th 2025 it was cloudy but not cold. The lake water was crystal clear and very cold (freezing), took a dip and enjoyed it very much., a great feeling!

We didn't quite understand why the Blue Eye was so popular. We found the area 300m before the Blue Eye (by the bridge) much nicer and more relaxing. Nevertheless, despite the freezing, wet temperatures, many people lingered below, and some even dared to jump into the icy water.

If you walk across it quickly, it's fun. But you still need to be careful. Next to the bridge, there's a safe, flat path that leads to the other side.

If you follow this route, you can't miss the lake. Part of the path goes through the lake because there are stones placed there and you walk on them. It is very beautiful and quiet there. It is a good place for a break.

Until I reached the top I thought there were no markings. On the way back I took another route where the path was well marked. On the way I also met a group of tourists with a mountain guide (later I met them in Montenegro too). This route is recommended because there are markings and no warnings about minefields. You just have to watch out for herding dogs. The landscape on this side is also very beautiful.
