The Protestant St. Peter's Church with its mighty tower is a special landmark of Tiefenort. It was first mentioned in a document in 1137. Initially there was a chapel with a cemetery. In 1340 the patronage of St. Peter was mentioned and after the Reformation extensions were made in 1521, 1530 and 1630. The impressive crowning of the tower dates from 1777. We found the church open, which is also worth seeing from the inside.
