The Catholic parish church was built between 1489 and 1504 and is the only Gothic church in the Geisa deanery that has survived from the Middle Ages. After standing here on Beckersrain for 200 years, the drinking fountain from the 17th century, opposite the street, was moved to the ice field because there was often overflowing water around it, which led to mud in summer and ice in winter. It stood there for more than 100 years until it was brought back here after reunification and as part of the square design and street widening. The fountain in Geisa is decorated with the coat of arms of Cardinal Bernhard Margrave of Baden-Durlach. Prince Abbot of Fulda from 1671 to 1677.

The drinking fountain was also called the black fountain. The base behind the water basin bears a lion, which holds the coat of arms of the Fulda prince abbot, Cardinal Bernhard Gustav.
