A small stone hut crouches on the mountainside, the grey slate stones are overgrown with moss in the joints, giving the hut the appearance of being a natural part of the landscape. A narrow path winds up the slope to the hut.

Restaurant with parking lot for hikers and bus stop. Open daily except Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Good start for hikes.

The Schweizerhaus is finally open again, how nice. I can't say how many times I hiked here with my parents. At that time the Kremser drove through the beautiful Schwarzatal. One can only wish the new operators a lot of strength, because all around there is still a lot to do. But the food is very tasty and freshly prepared, the price is right and the staff is very nice. When it's busy you have to wait a little longer, but that's also communicated. We felt good.

The Schweizerhaus reopened at the end of May 2022 under new management. Current opening times 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. I wish the new owners every success. My first impression was very positive. The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable too. Winter break until March 1st, 2023

So I have to say that I was very surprised by this hut(s). Especially how well preserved they are. And you just have to go in, small but nice.

A real tip for nature lovers. Here you will find countless bird species such as the kingfisher. In summer it is the most pleasant place, easy (riverside path) to challenging (panoramic path) terrain, depending on your preference.
