The following legend is still told about the term "high swarm": A priest let a white dove fly with a little silver bell. She should determine the future location of the castle through the choice of her retirement home. The dove settled on an oak on the banks of the Saale. When the mighty tree was felled, a swarm of bees flew high into the air from its trunk. This is how the name "Hoher Schwarm" is supposed to have come about.
