First trike ride in 17 months ... and most probably the last one this year. Therefore I tried to get the most of it, and the last part I rode in the dark.

I intended to take advantage of a beautiful day adding some more high meters. So I headed to Weißer Stein (for first first time!). The area is absolutely great, with lot of beautiful side roads inviting to be explored. Next time I will definitely do it the other way round, going up on the gravel road and down on asphalt (I feel more comfortable on asphalt downhill 🫣, and definitely faster than on gravel). Because time allowed, on the way back to Mannheim I made a spontaneous detour through Speyer. The weather was sunny and pleasant (for this time of the year), so I spent a wonderful day outdoor.

I started late due to some necessary adjustments to my bike, choose a different exit route from Mannheim which led to confusion and several mistakes, finally I felt down trying to pass between two barriers which were closer together than the previous 20 barriers. Obviously the odds were against me, so I decided to turn back, through a partly improvised route. All in all it was nice, wonderful late autumn sunny weather ... but it could have been definitely a much nicer ride.
