    Il Backenberger See (anche Backenbergsee, lago del cratere Güntersen, lago del cratere a Backenberg) è stato creato dall'estrazione di basalto. Il Backenberg, vicino a Güntersen, alto 385 m, è un vulcano spento circa 14 milioni di anni fa. Il basalto è stato estratto come materia prima ambita tra il 1927 e il 1972.
