La statua equestre in bronzo del Cid fu realizzata da Juan Cristóbal e inaugurata nel 1955.
Con la spada e il mantello svolazzanti al vento, l'immagine equestre con Babieca come cavalcatura, ha un atteggiamento di partenza verso l'esilio. La spada punta verso Valencia, città che conquistò nel 1094. La statua si trova di fronte al ponte San Pablo dove possiamo vedere otto figure di Cidian di Joaquín Lucarini.
