    La storia del castello di Tavigny in stile Luigi XVIII risale al Medioevo. In origine si trattava di una semplice torre difensiva con i lati larghi 10 metri. Nel corso degli anni furono aggiunti un bastione, torri circolari e alloggi. Nel XVIII secolo fu trasformata in azienda di diporto. All'inizio del XIX secolo fungeva da quartier generale per i responsabili del canale Mosa-Moesella.

    Del primo castello feudale rimane solo una torre alta 10 metri, le cui mura sono spesse 2 metri. Non si conosce la data di costruzione della torre. Nel 1360 il castello apparteneva alla famiglia d'Ouren, signori di Tavigny. L'ultimo signore, Charles-Auguste de Dobbelstein, senza figli, morì al castello il 29 dicembre 1811. Nel 1816, il castello fu venduto ai Nicolay, conciatori di Stavelot.
