    Il castello fu costruito tra il 1679 e il 1687 per la linea Oettingen-Spielberg da Mathias Weiß di Kassel e decorato con magnifici stucchi di Mathias Schmuzer di Wessobrunn.     Il Residenzschloss è aperto da aprile a ottobre, dal martedì alla domenica, tra le 14:00 e le 15:00. La visita è possibile solo nell'ambito di una visita guidata, ed è anche possibile prenotare visite guidate combinate con il museo del castello.
