L'autorité centrale de l'église était l'archidiakonat de Karlstadt.
En 1167, les églises et chapelles d'Altengronau, Gundhelm, Hohenzell, Mottgers, Oberkalbach, Steckelberg, Steinbach, Sterbfritz, Zeitlofs et Züntersbach appartenaient à la paroisse de Ramholz.
