    Le lac Rudyard est en fait un réservoir, construit au XVIIIe siècle pour alimenter le canal Caldon. C'est devenu un centre de loisirs grâce au chemin de fer du North Staffordshire, qui amènerait les excursionnistes à ce bel endroit. À ce jour, une gamme d'activités ont lieu sur et autour du lac.
