    Barnsdale Woods offre un petit dépaysement grâce à la vue dégagée sur une grande partie de la route autour de Rutland Water. L'ancienne forêt (maintenant en partie replantée de conifères) couvre 28 ha et fait partie du SSSI Rutland Water. Le bois se trouvait autrefois dans un parc de cerfs médiéval.

    Cette ancienne forêt a été en partie détruite par la construction du réservoir. Il s'agit d'un taillis négligé des types Peterken Frêne-Érable, Frêne-Noisier, Chêne pédonculé-Noisetier et Orme envahissant, mais il a été en partie planté de conifères.
