    Un portail mène à la cour intérieure de la place du château (Place de Saint-Chamond). À gauche derrière l'arche se trouve la maison Hartmann - dont le nom vient de son dernier propriétaire privé - qui a été construite comme un ancien bâtiment de cave en 1724. La ville a acquis la maison en 1977 et l'a convertie aux normes d'aujourd'hui tout en conservant le style architectural. Le mobilier de style Aix-la-Chapelle-Liège a été conservé.
