The Pöhl Dam, a significant man-made monument, is nestled in the picturesque Vogtland region of Saxony, Germany, near the town of Jocketa. Standing at an elevation of approximately 373 meters, this impressive curved concrete gravity dam was constructed between 1958 and 1964, primarily to provide flood control, industrial water supply, and energy generation. It impounds the Trieb river, a tributary of the White Elster, creating a vast reservoir that has become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
