Leaving Edinburgh the route gets into some great gravel after about 14 km at the Pentland hills.

Leaving Tan Hill, we managed to get the first part of the day done quite quickly. Some short gravel climbs and some descents woke us up and gave us some lovely scenes for some quick pictures.

The final leg into Manchester, section five, is through lumpy Lancashire. It's tough; a real sting in the tail after four days on the road.
