Over the years I have ridden many of the continent's most famous routes, from the Loire and the Elbe to the Carinthian Lake Loop and the Baltic coast. The Szczecin Lagoon Cycle Route is a Polish-German loop of about 300 km that circles Szczecin Lagoon and Lake Dabie. Around two thirds of the route run through West Pomerania in Poland, while the rest continues on the German side. We cycled the Baltic Sea Coast Cycle Route in northern Germany, part of EuroVelo 10, from Lübeck to Stralsund. The route follows the Ostseeküsten-Radweg and is one of the most popular long-distance cycling routes in the country. It combines Baltic Sea landscapes, fields of blooming rapeseed and towns full of Hanseatic heritage. We wanted to see how this German section compares to other parts of EuroVelo 10 we knew before.
