Hoy, la Blaueishütte se encuentra al borde de la cuenca. Pero no solo por la impresionante vista del lago Hintersee. El refugio original fue alcanzado por una avalancha y demolido. Aún se pueden ver los restos. Es impresionante la fuerza que puede tener una avalancha.
