    La iglesia se mencionó por primera vez en 1165. Después de ser destruida por los turcos, se volvió a dedicar en 1534. En 1660 sufrió graves daños por un incendio y hubo que construir una iglesia de emergencia. El edificio de la iglesia actual fue reconstruido entre 1727 y 1735 por Sebastian Tengg y consagrado en 1735, aunque el edificio solo se completó en 1747. En 1755 se levantó la torre de la iglesia. El exterior fue restaurado en 1912 y entre 1961 y 1965, y el interior entre 1969 y 1970.
