El Moosweiher de once metros de profundidad se creó quitando grava para la construcción de la A5 en los años 1960 a 1962, es decir, antes de que se creara el distrito asociado de Landwasser. En 1966 el ayuntamiento le dio el nombre de Moosweiher y en 1968 el estanque de la cantera fue recultivado por la Oficina de Jardines, se acondicionaron caminos con bancos, césped para tomar el sol y un parque infantil. Posteriormente se añadieron restaurante, minigolf, aseos e instalaciones deportivas con casa club.
